Adult Treatment and Resolving Relapse Treatment
All of our orthodontic work is carried out by our specialist orthodontist, Dr Sophy Barber. She offers free orthodontic consultations for patients of all ages, and as well as treating new cases can help patients who have had orthodontic treatment in the past, but have suffered some relapse.
She has the specialist training to assess when a quick fix option is possible and when it really wouldn't be adviseable.
These are the treatments we offer:
Metal braces are the most commonly recognised type of orthodontic treatment, and also the most cost-effective. They are placed on the front of the teeth and comprise wires and brackets that gently move the teeth to a new position. You can opt to have various colours on the braces at no extra cost.
Clear braces work in the same way as metal braces, but because they use clear or tooth-coloured wires and brackets, they are practically invisible. They don't stain or discolour over time, meaning they are highly discreet.
Lingual braces act like regular braces, but are attached to the back of the teeth, meaning nobody will know you are wearing them, unless they're looking right into your mouth.
Invisalign Clear Aligners
Invisalign is a series of clear plastic aligners that gently move your teeth into a new position. These aligners fit over your teeth and can be removed for cleaning and eating. You will be given a set of aligners and have to change them every couple of weeks as your teeth move. Each set of aligners is tailored to fit your teeth exactly, with the aid of special treatment planning software.
The Inman Aligner is a single clear aligner used to treat crowding or protrusion of the front teeth. It creates and utilises special, gentle forces thanks to its spring-based design, moving the teeth quickly. It is not suitable for all cases – please discuss this at your initial consultation.
Fast braces are a good option for cases of relapse. They can work in as little as six months.
